About Healthy Steps Nutrition
Healthy Steps Nutrition Is Habit-Based Coaching Programm Using A Holistic Approach
Meet The Founder, Nicole Aucoin
Registered Dietitian, CrossFit Trainer, Author & International Speaker
Nicole Aucoin is a registered dietitian with nearly 20 years of experience in nutrition, fitness, and lifestyle medicine. Throughout her career, one question has guided her work:
What if we focused more on preventing chronic disease than treating it?
Early in her career as a clinical dietitian, Nicole cared for patients living with chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and kidney disease. While she was passionate about helping people improve their health, she became frustrated by a healthcare system that often intervened only after a disease had developed. Too often, conversations centered on medications and symptom management rather than on the root causes and everyday habits that could have prevented many of those conditions in the first place.
She believed there was a better way.
In 2012, Nicole founded Healthy Steps Nutrition to bridge the gap between healthcare and healthy living. Her vision was to create a practical, evidence-based coaching system that empowers people to take control of their health through sustainable habits, not restrictive diets or short-term solutions.
That vision evolved into the Healthy Steps Nutrition Methodology, which was recognized as the Top Habit-Based Coaching Program in 2025.
As Healthy Steps Nutrition grew, so did Nicole's understanding of what truly drives long-term health. She realized nutrition is only one piece of the puzzle. Lasting transformation also depends on movement, sleep, stress management, mindset, environment, and the support systems that shape our daily lives. This insight became the foundation of the Healthy Steps Nutrition methodology, a comprehensive, habit-based approach that helps people build healthier lives one step at a time.
Today, Nicole leads Healthy Steps Nutrition's mission to make trusted health coaching more accessible than ever before. Through education, technology, and strategic partnerships with healthcare providers and fitness professionals, Healthy Steps Nutrition is helping individuals move beyond simply managing disease toward building lifelong health.
An international speaker and entrepreneur, Nicole regularly shares her expertise on nutrition, behavior change, preventive health, and scalable coaching systems.
Her vision remains the same as the day she started:
To create a world where chronic disease isn't the norm by empowering people to take control of their health through sustainable lifestyle habits.
About Healthy Steps Nutrition
Healthy Steps Nutrition was founded in 2012 with one mission: to help people take control of their health through sustainable lifestyle habits.
We believe health is the outcome of our daily habits. It isn't simply the absence of disease—it is the ability to thrive throughout every stage of life.
True health comes from nourishing your body with whole foods, prioritizing protein, vegetables, healthy fats, fruit, and quality carbohydrates; moving regularly with an emphasis on strength; prioritizing sleep; managing stress; cultivating a positive mindset; creating an environment that supports healthy choices; and surrounding yourself with a supportive community.
Health is about balance, not perfection. It is built through small, consistent habits that support physical, mental, and emotional well-being, helping you feel your best and live life to the fullest.
This philosophy is the foundation of everything we do. Whether we're coaching an individual, educating a healthcare provider, supporting a fitness professional, or developing technology, our goal is the same: to empower people with the education, tools, accountability, and support they need to build healthier habits for life.
Everything we create is guided by one vision:
To create a world where chronic disease isn't the norm by making habit-based health coaching accessible to everyone.
Evolution of Healthy Steps Nutrition
Healthy Steps Nutrition began as a nutrition coaching company because we believed food had the power to change lives.
As we worked with thousands of individuals over the past decade, one thing became clear:
Nutrition is the foundation of health but it is only one piece of the puzzle.
The people who achieved the greatest long-term success weren't simply changing what they ate. They were improving how they slept, how they managed stress, how they moved their bodies, the environment they lived in, and the relationships that supported them along the way.
This realization transformed our methodology.
Today, the Healthy Steps Nutrition Methodology addresses six interconnected pillars of health:
- Nutrition – Nourishing the body with whole foods while prioritizing protein, vegetables, healthy fats, fruit, and quality carbohydrates.
- Movement & Exercise – Building strength and moving consistently to support lifelong health.
- Sleep – Prioritizing quality sleep to improve recovery, energy, and overall well-being.
- Stress Management & Mindset – Developing resilience and habits that support mental and emotional health.
- Environment & Lifestyle – Creating routines and environments that make healthy choices easier.
- Support & Community – Building accountability and meaningful relationships that encourage lasting behavior change.
At the center of every pillar is our habit-based coaching methodology.
We believe lasting transformation doesn't come from doing everything perfectly. It comes from making small, intentional improvements that become lifelong habits.
As our methodology evolved, so did our mission.
In 2016, Healthy Steps Nutrition partnered with CrossFit to help affiliate owners successfully integrate nutrition coaching into their gyms. Together, we developed systems, education, and coaching frameworks that empowered affiliates to deliver professional nutrition coaching alongside fitness, creating more meaningful results for their members and stronger, more sustainable businesses.Over the past decade, Healthy Steps Nutrition has trained more than 5,000 coaches, equipping fitness professionals, dietitians, and healthcare providers with the knowledge and systems to become effective nutrition and health coaches.
As demand for habit-based health coaching continued to grow, we recognized another opportunity. Many people weren't ready for one-on-one coaching, and many healthcare providers and gym owners wanted a trusted solution to support healthy behavior change without building a nutrition program from scratch.
In 2026, the Healthy Steps Nutrition platform was launched, a comprehensive health coaching platform that combines education, habit tracking, meal planning, AI-powered nutrition feedback, community, and accountability. Today, it serves as a trusted solution for individuals beginning their health journey while helping coaches, healthcare providers, and fitness professionals extend their impact and support more people than ever before.
The Future of Healthy Steps Nutrition
Our vision is simple: Help millions of people take control of their health one step at a time.
We know we can't accomplish that alone.
The future of Healthy Steps Nutrition is expanding access to trusted, evidence-based health coaching by combining innovative technology with a growing network of highly trained professionals.
We'll continue to educate and equip coaches, dietitians, healthcare providers, and fitness professionals with the tools, systems, and support they need to create lasting behavior change. At the same time, we'll continue to enhance our health coaching platform, so more people can begin improving their health—whether they're just getting started on their own or are ready to work with a trusted coach.
Our goal isn't to replace human coaching. It's to make it more accessible.
By connecting individuals with qualified professionals, strengthening partnerships across healthcare and fitness, and leveraging technology to extend the reach of every coach, we're building a future where everyone has access to the guidance, accountability, and support they need to build healthier habits for life.
Because creating a world where chronic disease isn't the norm requires more than one company—it requires empowering thousands of coaches to change millions of lives.
